Audi announce new S6 and S7 models with diesel engines?

Audi has always been known for creating quick cars and at the heart of them, large petrol engines. The move to V6 diesel engines means they now produce 345bhp, 100bhp less than its predecessor. The new engine is also combined with an  electric compressor and 48V mild-hybrid system to help with low end torque. The compressor, also found in the V8 diesel Audi SQ7 helps fill in any gaps in torque giving it more liner torque figure. Therefore, torque figures have seen an increase to 516lb ft at 2500rpm.

The mild hybrid system also incorporated start-stop technology, kicking in at 14mph to further improve its fuel saving. This also allows them to be even more economical, sitting 30.1mpg up from 21mpg. Both new S6 and S7 have seen chassis upgrades alongside the new drivetrain. This, paired with sport suspension and progressive steering make it a worth while upgrade over the older model. What do you think?
